Adrian Powers

Directing

Biography
Adrian Powers is an Australian film director, screenwriter and editor, with nearly two decades of experience spanning hundreds of productions. Adrian's work has been showcased at prestigious global festivals like Cannes, Austin and Venice, and he was described by filmmaker Ridley Scott as a "talent for the industry to watch". After graduating from the International Film School Sydney, Adrian immediately began work on his debut feature project, the WWI action thriller 'Forbidden Ground' (which was later acquired by Lionsgate Films). Since then, he has gone on to co-write and direct the hit rom-com 'A Royal in Paradise', its sequel 'A Royal Proposal', and the Netflix global #1 hit 'Love is in the Air', which amassed over 12 million views in its first week and became the most-watched Australian film on Netflix in 2023. In addition to directing, Adrian has edited 15 feature films, contributed as a writer to the Netflix original series 'Dive Club', and created the award-winning short 'Brolga', which was selected for cultural preservation by the Australian National Film and Sound Archive. Beyond film and television, his commercial portfolio includes work for top-tier brands such as Apple, QANTAS, Uber, Yves Saint Laurent, The Guardian, Lonely Planet, and Google. Adrian holds both Australian and Italian citizenship, and currently resides in Sydney, Australia.
