C.J. Laing was born Wendy Miller on August 1, 1956 in New York City. She first became involved in the adult cinema business while living in San Francisco in a series of loops called "Juke Joint" made by the Mitchell Brothers of Behind the Green Door (1972) fame. After returning to New York, Lang appeared in her first theatrical adult feature in 1975 while still in her late teens. She went on to act in over 50 adult films and loops in a brief, yet eventful, career lasting a mere five years. She was usually cast in victim roles, getting brutally raped in both Sex Wish (1976) and The Taking of Christina (1976). She was inducted into the X-Rated Critics Organization Hall of Fame as a film pioneer and into the AVN Hall of Fame in 2005 for her strong and impressive contributions to the "Golden Age of Porn".
