We are guided from the darkness into the pulsating heart of the facility, among massive conduits, towering turbines and a silent, unsettling control centre. We observe the annual procedure of magnetic particle inspection: a complex examination of the turbines aimed at detecting cracks and material defects. Through the technicians’ hands and their meticulous application of magnets and fluorescent powders, we follow every stage of the inspection, an open-heart exploration of the machine. The soundscape, built from recordings captured inside the plant, transforms the environment into an auditory landscape that makes the invisible presence of energy and technology tangible. Amid flashes of iridescent light and metallic reflections, Arco Voltaico reveals the delicate interplay between humans and machinery, fragility and power.
