Building on my background in academic drawing, I create a painting that reinterprets Rubens’ Roman Charity from the viewpoint of its female figure. This painting then appears as a prop in the video, becoming a means to inscribe my own biography and to explore questions of gaze, female subjectivity, memory, and the boundaries of the permissible.
Pessoal do Ceará - Lado A Lado B explores the music scene from the Brazilian state of Ceará between 1969 and 1979 - a period marked by the military coup, the implementation of the AI-5 decree, and intense socio-political ferment. The focus is on the "Pessoal do Ceará" movement, which brought artists such as Fagner, Ednardo, and Belchior to prominence. Taking the 1973 álbum as a starting point, the work examines its common association with these three singers - even though, in reality, only Ednardo (alongside Rodger and Teti) is featured on it.
