The protagonist is Naftali who is a teacher in a rural school thanks to his parents’ thinking and his own talents. Having lest the gypsy community he lives with his life in the village but one day he has to go back for the wake of one of his relatives to participate in the vigil. He convinces the community to start making bricks together. Naftali throws himself into the work wholeheartedly which leads to a serious clash with his wife.
