Storyline

At his wedding to Ie-hwa, Ji-won receives the order to become the royal son-in-law. In the end, Ji-won is unable to disobey the order and he marries the princess. But he cannot forget Ie-hwa so they have a secret affair. Ie-hwa is distraught by the situation and ultimately kills herself. Ji-won becomes a powerful man in the country. Meanwhile, the princess' half-brother is wary of Ji-won. The princess' half-brother tries to do away with Ji-won through Ie-hwa's parents but fails. Ie-hwa's father ends up getting killed when Ji-won strikes back. Filled with guilt over his death, Ji-won goes to Ie-hwa's grave and unexpectedly meets her. It is impossible to block their love as it is to block a flowing river, and the two embark on a long journey for their love.
