In a small provincial town, just before the New Year, something went wrong. A young doctor falls in love with a Moscow singer who has come on tour and for her sake enters into a fight with the local bohemian youth... A grocery store saleswoman accidentally kills a customer and, together with her ex-boyfriend, tries to get rid of the body... A fish supervision worker at a New Year's feast is forced to play the role of his deceased twin brother ...
