Don't Knock Twice

Saint-Maurice, an ordinary peaceful village, lived healthily so much so that the local doctor's practice was scant. But that was before Dr. Parpalaid retired and was replaced by a charlatan by the name of Knock. A real genius this one, for he soon managed to persuade everyone that they were ill. And not only didn't they resent him but they even loved their physician, who made a fortune and brought prosperity to the village by turning it into a big hospital.

An avid collector of Greek objects in Asia Minor, Dimitris, prepares an exhibition on multicultural life in Smyrna before World War I. In a trip to Izmir his girlfriend Rita, he finds in a small antique shop a Greek wedding dress that is stained with blood and an old photograph that send him on a journey to bridge the past with the present.

He argues to Joaquin, old drug dealer and ex-policeman and ends up threatening him. On his way out of the operation, Mauro and his partner policemen, a gang controlled by Joaquin, stop their way out start a wrangle where Mauro is wounded. His body armor couldn´t even stop a small touch of the knife. The scandal on the bad quality of body armors turns into an investigation of malversation of police funds which is exaggerated and misreported by the media.
