Laila is distressed by her mother's control over her life. When a family member dies, she travels with her mother to Alexandria to attend the funeral, then many comical situations occur during the presence of the large extended family, which consists of four aunts, their children, and their grandchildren.

This season depicts the events Egypt witnessed in the years following the January 25 Revolution, leading to the Muslim Brotherhood's rise to power, and the crises that afflicted Egypt during that period causing a state of popular anger against the group and Mohamed Morsi, which ended in the outbreak of the June 30 Revolution.
