A young woman discovers that a sex tape made without her knowledge is circulating online. Paranoia takes over, along with a sense of injustice. Her sudden terror of video triggers a downward spiral where she loses all social bearings.

Sakura is a moody teenage girl who lives close to the US military base in the city of Yamato, Japan. She is struggling everyday to become a rapper like the American rappers she admires, but always gets stage fright when she sings in front of an audience. One day, her mother's American soldier boyfriend's daughter REI comes from California to visit her family.

Everyday a woman feverishly practices ping pong by herself. She play ping pong to distract herself from the reality of her life which includes the occasional sexual harrasment at work. A chance encounter one night slowly begins to change her world.

An overly curious journalist sits face to face with a resident of the mysterious district of North Shinjuku. One is trying to understand the codes and unspoken truths of a closed community; the other gradually reveals his world. Daisuke Miyazaki delivers an unorthodox, futuristic sci-fi full of recursive effects and false appearances. Shot in lustrous black and white, featuring a series of still images, this impossible dialogue is like a response from the future to Chris Marker’s La Jetée. Harrowing yet leavened by humour, the story includes street kids, ancestral pariahs and, as you’d expect, yakuzas.
