Part 1. In 1873, the Taras Shevchenko Ukrainian Literary Society was founded in Lviv to promote the nation and preserve its language and culture. This is the story of its history from 1873 to 1914. Part 2. The period between the two world wars can hardly be called favorable for the development of Ukrainian science and culture, the only center of which remained the Taras Shevchenko Scientific Society. However, with the arrival of Soviet power in Lviv, it was banned. Part 3. Fifty years after the ban, the Taras Shevchenko Scientific Society resumed its activities in Ukraine. The indestructible brotherhood of intellect and conscience returned to its homeland.
