A poor carpenter hopes to secure a better life for his daughter by sending her to a college in Hanoi. As the university entrance exams approach, he is dead set on the ultimate mission: ward off anything - or anyone - that will distract the daughter from studying only.

Freshly graduated from college, Cuong enters an internship and is determined to make a career for himself without the help of his wealthy industrialist dad or the connections of his well-esteemed veteran grandpa. But when the sudden appearance of a hotshot candidate threatens to take away the dream job of his life, Cuong begins to have a change of heart.

The Partner is a 2013 Japanese-Vietnamese historical telefilm based on the true story of the Vietnamese independence fighter Phan Bội Châu and his Japanese friend Asaba Sakitaro. The film aired on September 29, 2013 on Vietnam Television in Vietnam and Tokyo Broadcasting System Television in Japan.
