A master painter from Berlin is offered the opportunity to be one of the first to shake hands with the US President and his wife during their upcoming visit. He jumps at the chance, but first has to get his hopelessly dysfunctional family together.

Thea is attractive, and her husband Nat is wealthy. Together, they are a classic couple who have grown apart. A “clean” breakup is imminent. But then Thea causes an accident that leaves Nat paralyzed. Plagued by guilt, she moves back into their shared apartment.

Eight years after her daughter's disappearance, Clara hasn't given up hope. And when she recognizes her in a magazine photo, she sets out to find her, all the way to Sweden.
