Gottland provides an unconventional look at Czechoslovak 20th century history. Inspired by the bestselling book “Gottland” from the Polish journalist Mariusz Szczygiel, this feature-length film is comprised of short stories portraying peculiar fates. Young documentary film makers from renowned Prague Film School FAMU, inspired by the book, take a closer look at the history of post-war Czechoslovakia and Czech Republic, in order to discover new heroes and remind us of the ones that were forgotten or erased from the history.

Mrs. Józefa worked in theatre as a decoration specialist and she likes to talk about celebrities. The film portrays a microcosm of elder people with their problems, joy, successes and disappointment.

A group of teenagers run away from a computer game camp after group leaders confiscate their computers and cut their access to the Internet. The impossibility to escape to the virtual world makes it equally impossible to stay in the former reality. The youngsters are found 20 days later in the forest, deeply traumatised by hiding in silence and the knowledge that one of them is forever lost.

Joszko is intrigued by the girl, who has stopped speaking in the wake of the shock. Relations between the children quickly become tense, turning into rivalry. Lila, craving maternal care, tries to take Joszek's place in his mother's heart. She even goes so far as to make threats.

The history of the Wylatowa area is intriguing and fascinating. For six years now people have been gathering there who are convinced of the existence of extraterrestrial life forms regularly visiting our planet. Since the second sign appeared equally a year after the first one, groups of determined ufologists and fascinated people decided to prove that they are or are not a work and a proof of the presence of UFOs. This topic attracted the interest of Maciej Cuske "The film is about one particular enthusiast, ready to give up practically everything to prove that a UFO really exists.
