Gottland provides an unconventional look at Czechoslovak 20th century history. Inspired by the bestselling book “Gottland” from the Polish journalist Mariusz Szczygiel, this feature-length film is comprised of short stories portraying peculiar fates. Young documentary film makers from renowned Prague Film School FAMU, inspired by the book, take a closer look at the history of post-war Czechoslovakia and Czech Republic, in order to discover new heroes and remind us of the ones that were forgotten or erased from the history.

As part of the legendary Experimental Studio of Polish Radio, he revealed hidden value in rough and rejected sounds long before the rise of the DJs. In an era of electronic music created in a workshop resembling a scientific lab, he composed music to reach and to portray other human beings. This movie is an attempt to hear the vision of his music.

A portrayal of patients from the Clinic in Cracow. Mr. Sylwester went to hospital for the 23rd time. Mrs. Luiza is in a good mood and has an appetite, although she has problems with her health. Mrs. Józefa worked in theatre as a decoration specialist and she likes to talk about celebrities. The film portrays a microcosm of elder people with their problems, joy, successes and disappointment.

A group of teenagers run away from a computer game camp after group leaders confiscate their computers and cut their access to the Internet. The impossibility to escape to the virtual world makes it equally impossible to stay in the former reality. The youngsters are found 20 days later in the forest, deeply traumatised by hiding in silence and the knowledge that one of them is forever lost.

Wojtek, despite turning 30, still believes in the legend of a big fish swimming in a nearby lake. He devotes all his time to catching it. This is of little interest to Wojtek's overprotective mother, Wanda, who, on her son's birthday, decides to arrange his life: find a girlfriend, buy an apartment and turn him into a marketing specialist for his own denim company. A fairy tale of maladjustment, dreams and sick love.

Forst is a wealthy, well-organized man. When we meet him, he seems like the king of life. One day he abandons the corporation where he is vice president. The devastation he leaves behind gives no hope of returning. The forest, 4 am a few years later. A semi-feral forest grandfather, overgrown, dirty, in rags, sets snares for animals. We recognize: it's the same man - Forst. He lives in the forest, in a dugout he built himself. For company he has a three-legged dog. He feeds on the meat of hunted game, lives in harmony with nature. One day, thirteen-year-old Jadzia stands in front of the door of his solitude. Forst once again has to change his life....

What was in the minds of the young women and men who fomented revolution in their own country? What did they think when their revolution was quelled, or – as in Iran – an authoritarian regime was instituted under the name of an “Islamic Republic”?

She heals people using the power of words, gestures and images. Rough nature, religious ceremonies and pagan rituals are what you will encounter along the path to this state of mind.

Eight-year-old Yoshko is awaiting the arrival of her cousin, Lila, whose parents died in a car accident. The girl is to live with relatives. Joszko is intrigued by the girl, who has stopped speaking in the wake of the shock. Relations between the children quickly become tense, turning into rivalry. Lila, craving maternal care, tries to take Joszek's place in his mother's heart. She even goes so far as to make threats.

The fate of a religious and a young woman intertwine when they both suffer the loss of a loved one.

The history of the Wylatowa area is intriguing and fascinating. Emeryka loses control of her life through the intrigue of a mysterious character named The Something and is led to an adventurous escape to a female sect, for which she has to leave her daughter behind. It is a story about the right to choose how each person defines themselves in terms of gender and sexuality.
