A stranger came to Sparky's church. He told Sparky's dad, Mr. Paggert, he needed some boys to help carry provisions up into the mountains on a secret mission. It sounded exciting. The stranger was searching for a legendary lost gold mine and had a map which seemed to indicate exactly where the mine could be found. At Doubting Castle, Mercy at last takes firm grip upon the promises of God's Word and is rewarded with deep faith. Then, at Pilgrim's Rest, the entire group discovers the meaning of the verse, "For me to live is Christ and to die is to gain."

One of the most widely seen youth films of the late 70's, this dramatic motion picture follows the life of Steve and Angie during their senior year of high school. They each try to live for Christ and reach out to others around them. But, as they deal with their own struggles to share the Lord, a fellow classmate makes things very difficult for them.

Twins, a young man and his sister, live with their mother on their uncle's property. The uncle wants to sell the girl for a bride price of 12 cattle. The boy goes to the city and is able to earn the amount of money needed to purchase his sister's freedom. The purchase becomes an illustration of the price Jesus paid with his death on the cross.
