A modern villa in the dry Portuguese summer landscape. In 2007, Yahya works at his friend Osama’s falafel shop in Gaza, which doubles as a drug dealing front. His entanglement leads him to witness a terrible crime. A couple years later, Gaza’s Ministry of Culture randomly chooses Yahya to star in a TV series that highlights martyrs and heroes of the resistance. As conflict simmers in the distance, Yahya unexpectedly receives real weapons, heightening the stakes as the show provides him with an opportunity to confront the perpetrator of the offense that changed his life.

The story of Luizinha, a girl born into a very poor family who is given by her father to António, the richest man in town, to raise her. But the death of his wife leads António to marry Berta for the second time, and it soon becomes clear that the large family home is too small to accommodate both Luizinha and her stepmother. At the height of the conflict, António defends his daughter and Berta files for a contentious divorce. Shortly afterwards, she is found dead and António is accused of murder. But the truth that the court seeks to uncover may not be the most obvious one.

In Gaza, 60-year-old fisherman Issa has been secretly in love with Siham, a widow who works at the market. One day, the discovery of an ancient phallic statue of Apollo in his fishing net changes his life. With newfound confidence, he decides to approach Siham but problems arise when authorities become involved with this mysterious and potent treasure.

Here we meet Leandro, a fisherman who leads an honest life until the day he kills a man who abuses his daughter. Forced to flee, he wanders through the countryside until he is taken in by João Senteiro, the elderly leader of a gang of thieves. Leandro joins the group and tries to save money to escape to Brazil. But when the regional administrator offers a reward for the capture of the gang, Leandro's sense of justice is put to the test once again.
