Tuur and Lambert are best friends. But the war is closing in and is about to change their lives forever. Tuurs dad joined the resistance and even his big brother seems so be part of it. From different time perspectives, Sloophamer tells the story of 55-year-old Dirk, who one Friday afternoon returns to his house in the pleasant street where he leads a happy life. He is proud of the house he has converted into a snug little palace with his own hands. But then, suddenly, a wrecker's ball knocks a gaping hole into the outside wall. Dirk's wife quickly explains that the house is going to be demolished, but the bull-headed Dirk refuses to vacate the place. Still, the overseer of the demolition team wants to finish the job before the weekend. To 'smoke out' the couple, he makes their situation increasingly dire. Water, gas and electricity are cut off and the anti-riot squad is even on standby. While Dirk is cheered as a hero by sympathisers, the overseer decides to go upstairs and terminate the predicament. There, he finds a different man than he had imagined. It slowly becomes clear that Dirk is out of touch with reality.

Maverick director Melvin Van Peebles translates his own satirical novel to the screen with this multi-national portrait of race, class, and hypocrisy. The film's title refers to the name of a haute cuisine restaurant run by a self-satisfied conservative couple, Henri and Loretta. When the two find themselves overworked in the kitchen, they retreat to the local orphanage to find some cheap waitressing help, and the teenaged Diamantine fits the bill perfectly. The haughty couple has more plans for the girl than just waiting tables, however -- the conspicuously accommodating Henri and Loretta are actually bad-mouthing the girl behind her back to the townspeople and the restaurant's patrons. They go so far as to ask the naive Diamantine to pretend that she's pregnant, and she complies under the assumption that it's a harmless prank. When their intentions are revealed, however, the girl becomes wise to the couple's self-satisfied scheming, and sets her sights on revenge.

The show featured over 120 songs, written by Joop Stokkermans (music) and Harrie Geelen (lyrics), who also wrote the story and dialogues.

Hansje, a ten-year-old boy, is home alone because his parents have to work during Christmas. His mother is an actress in a Christmas play and his father is a conductor of a Christmas concert. Hansje himself has a bad cold and spends the day making drawings until he discovers a small Christmas angel in the Christmas tree. The angel is looking for Pleasure on earth. To explain what Pleasure is, the Christmas angel takes Hansje with him, floating through the air, in the drawings that Hansje made of his hometown. They visit the Christmas play where his mother will perform, his school friend Geesje, a girl whose rabbit will be on the Christmas menu and some girls who go on a holiday to escape the cold. They also see old Mr. Biggelaar, who walks lonely through the city.
