A newly ordained priest, Capulina, is sent to a town where a gang of criminals has driven out the priest who needs to be replaced. Rogelio, the gang’s leader, forces Capulina to take part in a robbery, and the police mistake him for the gang’s leader, calling the group “the priest’s gang.” Capulina must set the record straight and catch the gang on his own.

Two unethical businessmen are trying to swindle Capulina and his niece out of a piece of real-estate, but Capulina wants to use that vacant lot to present a circus.
