In Manchuria during the 1940's, a karate master named Sazaki and hapkido champion Wang make plans to rob the Korean Independence Army of its funds. However, unknown to them, the money is guarded by one Mr Lee--a grand master of taekwondo.

Master Wong (Kwan Tak-Hing) and his disciple Fatty (Sammo Hung) are paying a visit to Thailand when they are assaulted by a hot-headed street fighter dubbed “Little Lion” (Carter Wong). In true Wong Fei Hung fashion, the master takes Lion under his wing after the impetuous youth gets his clock cleaned by a rival martial arts instructor. Meanwhile, Wong’s friend Chu is facing trouble from the local crime boss, who’s trying to seize control of Bangkok’s lucrative shipping business. Wong urges his friends and students to seek a peaceful resolution to their problems, but when the bad guys attack Fatty’s sister (Nora Miao), the master agrees to take up arms.

Pang hands Park over to Japanese officer Akasaka, who tortures him to find out the location of the stolen military funds. Park and a young boy assist Yong-cheol in forging a new leg out of iron to use as a weapon to defeat the gangsters.

An old member of Namsadang (a wayfaring group of Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910)) leaves his daughter Gye-yeon at a tavern of Hwagye Market, a traditional market located in Gurye, Jeollanam-do. Son of the tavern owner Seong-gi and Gye-yeon love each other, but the madam owner tries to separate them by sending Seon-gi to a temple. The old man comes back to take Gye-yeon and disclose a secret that the tavern owner is in fact his daughter, therefore Seong-gi is his grand son. Frustrated to hear that he cannot love Gye-yeon, Seong-gi goes for a long journey without destination as his ancestors of Namsadang have done.
