A young woman makes a living as a disc jockey in Berlin without having a permanent home or real friends. She accidentally discovers that her mother has died and sets out on a search for clues, which also leads her to her penniless father.

A look into the many lives of Christa Päffgen, otherwise known as Nico; from cutie German mädchen to the first of the supermodels, to glamorous diva of the Velvet Underground, to cult item, junkie and hag. Many faces for the same woman, whom, you realize, just couldn't bring herself to care enough to live.

The introduction of this film is set during the time of the Junta (1967-1974) when the main character (Lefteris Dimakopoulos) used to work at the fish-market in Mesolonggi in order to be able to finish his studies at the Polytechnic University. Later on, we watch Lefteris’ life through his relationship with Dimitra, a fellow student. The ups and downs in their relationship during the course of their studies end up in a deadlock, in which they sacrifice their relationship to their quest for success.
