Meenu, who belongs to a small family, falls in love with Chinnaiya, a village leader. However, she pretends to like the son of Chinnaiya's enemy who already is head over heels in love with her.

Muthuvel falls in love with a medical student, Thilakavathi, even though he thinks that she is a ghost at first. He fights for their love and encourages Thilakavathi to pursue her career.

Pandithurai, an unemployed youth, reveres and looks up to Malaisamy, his brother-in-law. However, when he discovers that Malaisamy has an extra-marital affair, he decides to teach him a lesson.

Kunju Gounder is a respected village chief, he seeks his missed son. Panju Gounder, worked as a servant in Kunju Gounder's house and married his sister. Now, Panju Gounder tries hard to be respected by the villagers. Raja and his friend are fraud. Raja attempts to make himself out to be Kunju Gounder's son and falls in love with Kunju Gounder's daughter Sinthamani. What transpires later forms the crux of the story.
