A robotics company vying to win a lucrative military contract team up with a corrupt CIA agent to conduct an illegal live field test. Rain Falls From Earth is a story of courage, a story of survival and a story of eventual triumph over the Communist regime that was responsible for the deaths of over two million people. The voices of many Cambodians are heard as they convey their thoughts, ideas and emotions - the very things they were forced to abandon in the "killing fields" of Cambodia. Their stories are an eyewitness account to genocide.

Soul River was part of the Mekong 2030 anthology, which presents five short films from five Southeast Asian directors, including Kulikar Sotho to represent Cambodia and Hanuman Films. Shooting took place in the Ramsar Wetlands and Stung Treng on the Mekong River as well as on the Tonle Sap Lake near Siem Reap.
