Johan is the newly appointed chairman of the gender equality group at the theatre. In his first meeting with the actors, he acknowledges his racist and sexist prejudices in order to create a starting point for discussion in the group. It starts a chain reaction that cannot be stopped.

The two psychology students Sara and Simon believe they have identifed the reason behind the loneliness of modern western society. They conclude that the need for self-realization through consumption leaves people with a sense of meaninglessness. An experiment is initiated and they gather a group of young people in an isolated house in the countryside. During the stay in the house, Simon gradually becomes a sovereign leader. What started out as a field study gradually turns into something more similar to a cult.
