Liebe. What begins as a trivial romantic etude about the lives of four young people who arrive on the island of Rügen to shoot a film about love gradually descends into a vortex of mutual suspicion, self-accusation, recriminations, and animalistic sex. When one of the two girls apparently drowns in the stormy waves of the Baltic Sea, the fates of those involved head toward an unexpectedly dark climax. The mysterious drama Liebe is a tribute to the goddess of cult and pagan times, when gods themselves entered into people. Whether they wanted it or not.

This architecturally unique resort on the shores of Lake Orlík was a secret retreat for the communist establishment in the 1960s, but later, rampant capitalism handed it over to now infamous businessmen. Imbued with a mysterious atmosphere, this portrait captures the genius loci and turbulent history of a hidden summer paradise that was never marked on any map.

What would happen if mum was always right? Do mums always tell their children the truth? If I squint, will I stay cross-eyed forever? And what about beer, can it be safely tasted? Or will it make me the shortest granddad in the old folk’s home? Will I really have muscles like Popeye if I eat spinach? The film follows mothers and children in several households. Their grotesque and absurd tales are based on the most common phrases told to children , for whom though they are an utterly plausible reality. In my film these situations will be showing what would happen if our mothers were always right. Absurdities like unravelled belly button, frogs in one’s stomach, eyes in the neighbours garden etc. are a great opportunity for the animated film, for which not a single literal meaning is impossible or inconcievable to shoot. The film is targeting primarily the adult viewers, parents, to make them realise the power and absurdity of their warnings. But I hope children will enjoy it too.

Hun Tun was an ancient emperor of chaos. He was both admirable and scary. Life with him was beautifully unbearable. In the Chinese myth, the world is born out of Hun Tun's dying body. Magdalena is an ordinary millennial. Her life is full of little twists and adventures: work, friends and love. But now she has only one mission – to get her sleep back. The more she tries, the more she gets stuck. It is only when she sees the chaos in her life clearly that the situation changes. And suddenly, there are other people with their “chaoses” too. This is how being spotted and recognized, Hun Tun starts losing power over Magdalena. Living together (un)happily forever.
