How, thanks to what's known as the "Butterfly theory" (a random series of unlinked events), can a young woman and a young man meet?

Sandra, a schoolteacher, would like to control every moment of a life she finds too banal. Even if she seems to have found an ideal in love, she takes two lovers, in the person of Pierre, ordinary but in love, and of Blaise a splendid black photographer.

The life of a man who discovers he has won the lottery, but faces numerous challenges in trying to claim his prize. Through a series of comedic and heartwarming events, the film explores themes of luck, fate, and the true nature of happiness.

When the War of Independence ends, a widow must find a roof for her six children. Luckily, a Frenchman about to leave offers her the house he is about to vacate. But a high-placed local bureaucrat does not agree to such a gift. After losing all hope of obtaining the property due to the bias of the local authorities, she decides to go to the capital with her children to speak to the president of the Republic.

Andre starts as a teacher in a remote mountain village in Albania. His first task is to choose one of two communist slogans. He picks the shorter one, which is appreciated by his class, because they have to build the slogan on the hillside using whitewashed rocks. However, this means that the longer slogan goes to Diana, the French teacher to whom Andre is attracted. Andre gets on the wrong side of the communist party boss of the village, when he stands up for an unjustly accused goat herdsman, whom he had befriended. The boss is determined to take his revenge on Andre.

Henry can't control himself : he's got to cheat, con, plot. It's not his fault, it's his nature ! Underhand deals, compromise, lies, and betrayals are the daily lot of this guitarist for provincial village dances. And he has no qualms about anything : getting his depressed sister committed, ripping off his mother who's grief-stricken after the death of her companion, compromising himself with an extreme right-wing party.
