"Frontalwatte" is like running against a hard wall and falling down softly. Franz, Adrian and Anastasia stumble through a pointless world. They kill time by viewing apartments, jaw operations, incest and poetry slams. Their search for identity becomes a search for the best fitting role.

17-year-old Ramona comes from a home in Berlin to a small village and introduces herself as the baker's daughter. Neither of them knew anything about each other. Laconic images of the dreariness of the East German provinces show the excessive demands on the long-married baker and the mutual speechlessness of daughter and father.

Rick Hardin, a mid-30s author of pulp novels, just wants to pick up his girl Sonja at a lonely gas station. But it seems that the cab has already picked her up. At the rest rooms, he witnesses a man battering a woman. Is it Sonja? Rick decides to help, but has to realize, that the victim is not Sonja at all, but a weird woman, who does not want to be helped. And he has to admit, that life sometimes holds strange twists. Unfortunately, this realization seems to come too late.

A. is 13 and has been abandoned by his mother in a children’s home, where he is taught discipline and obedience. He gets lessons in handiwork, keeps having to clean the home and is locked in a bare room at night. However, he doesn’t like the strict regime and runs away, deep into the forests of Brandenburg. Close to an airport, on the edge of a small village, he meets a lonely old man who takes pity on him. In their ramshackle dwelling, they are free of rules and obligations. But what is the real value of freedom?

The film installation Rhabarber Boy (rhubarb boy) is setting a fantasy-world in relation to the archaic nature of a child, and raises the question about the moral responsibility of virtual creatures and content. The film describes the life of a wild boy, living in a forest without the influences of civilization. He is keeping an old comic-collage in his cottage and is trying to understand the colorful and figurative images of this icon.
