A successful young Athenian lawyer, Theodora, who is the daughter of a general, takes on the case of Mantzavinos who is a grocer in Kolonos. Trying to avoid the usual hum-drum approach, she becomes involved with a strange gang with a blind beggar for a leader, Linos, a former teacher, and current idol, of hers, who seems to Theodora like a modern Oedipus. Linos' companion and right-hand man is the former caretaker of the school. The group is completed by two sister-hookers, Anta and Mina, who work in a brothel housed in the school building and who sometimes force Linos to beg for money. The gang is planning a "big score", the theft of the antiquities of Plato's Academy, but Theodora's reluctance, combined with the timely intervention of the police, cancel the plan.

In a prison cell two lifers meet, a former truck driver and the other one a "volunteer" who entered the prison because he believes that life as an inmate prisoner is better than outside.

During the hot summer of 2004--the year of the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens--somewhere in a small Cretan village, Andipas, a spirited twelve-year-old boy, dreams of becoming a runner. However, without a coach on his side and no real training routine, the determined boy has no other choice but to turn the whole village into his running track. Now, even the smallest of errands are a reason for a battle against the clock--but, when everything goes wrong all at once on the big day of the 200m final--a frenzied race against Andipas' friends, the villagers, and ultimately, the clock, will be on. But, will he make it in time to watch the event on TV?
