As if immersed in the situation, the viewer witnesses a distressing encounter between angry parents, a helpless teacher and three schoolgirls. It soon becomes clear that certain things are going wrong in their class. There have been complaints of bullying. The parents are mainly concerned with defending their own children. They throw around neurotic accusations and make untenable demands. Using a camera which itself seems to participate in the discussion, scene after scene is dissected with refreshing malice and a sense for the dark side of human nature. Desperate attempts to resolve things unleash an avalanche of other problems. It takes a long time before Denise, Bella and Mina can have their say.

At a creative firm somewhere in Stockholm, there's a short break in a meeting. Cecilia relates an anecdote from a hen party, about a 'Turk kiosk' that turned out to be closed. Asal, relatively new at the workplace, questions Cecilia's choice of words, and this seriously offends Cecilia. In the end it's Asal who is accused of inappropriate behaviour.

Where the summer night slowly pivots to morning there are meetings of unexpected magic. Baby takes us on a captivating and fast-paced journey through the streets of Stockholm where tomorrow will not be as expected for new acquaintances made at night.

Forced to leave her baby daughter with the child’s father, young mother Esther is caught in desperation and longing. Through the night she chases touch and comfort, seeking ways to hold on to who she loves the most.

Camilo, from the projects outside of Stockholm, sees city girl Amina on her way to a party. He borrows his friends expensive jacket and approaches her, offering to show her the way. The two connect, and Amina invites Camilo to the party. When one of the guys mistakes Camilos jacket for his own, it becomes clear Camilo will never be anything but a project kid to Amina and the other people at the party.

Nilo is a feminist writer, living an orderly life with her husband and 13-year-old daughter Laura. When her irresponsible sister Maya, whose projects constantly tend to bomb, both "kidnaps" Nilo's Volvo and daughter and heads south, Nilo tags along. The goal of the trip is Portugal, where the sisters’ complicated mother recently diagnosed with cancer lives, together with Maya’s son, who it has finally become time to take responsibility for.

Centrum is a depiction of democracy, dreams and the youth's search for a context.
