In the shade of Malta’s scorching sun, around the edges of the Swedish online-gambling community, exiled con man Dimman shows up for a lavish wedding, kicking off a desperate and decadent pursuit of redemption.

Set in France during the mid-1970s, Vanessa, a former dancer, and her husband Roland, an American writer, travel the country together. But when greedy relatives contest her claim, Mar's plans hit a snag. As she fights to secure her future, Mar meets Nenu, a spirited troubadour whose vibrant folk songs, rooted in Malta's ancient għana tradition, awaken emotions she's long buried.
