Olga is a complex young woman desperate to break free from her unfeeling family and social conventions. With her Louise Brooks-like tomboyish looks she drags herself, chain-smoking, from one job to another until she appears to find her niche as a truck driver. Although she has female lovers she does not form a bond with any of them; instead she clashes, time and again, venting herself in wordless emotional outbursts and other behavioural extremes.

After a series of entrapments by the security service a confrontation between the opposition and the communists seems to be inevitable. Just before the proclamation of martial law a group of young solidarity activists decide to play va banque and organize a rash action to take out 80 million of the union money from one of the Wroclaw’s banks before the account is blocked. Security service officers follow their steps. It’s the beginning of a gripping tournament in which also priests and curb dealers will play their parts. Each side has aces up their sleeve.

Soon he discovers that her life is far from being a dream and decides to win her heart. In the crowd of marathon contestants we will meet many individuals who dream of winning the main prize for various motivations. Who will turn out to be the winner? Will there be a prize at all? Because two small-time crooks, Simon and Silvio, are lurking around. And why this persistent notion that our life is so often influenced by miracles...?

A prostitute is enlisted into the Security Services in order to steal some highly classified records just as the communist regime is about to topple. What begins as political intrigue deftly turns into a complicated love affair.

It promises to be quite an ordinary day. A day during which viewers have the opportunity to peep into the lives of seven couples. It may seem that the camera captures snatches of the lives of random characters. This is an illusion. These people, although they do not know each other, once witnessed a certain accident that left its mark on them. On each different, but still... The first couple: Maciek and Lena. He was involved in a car accident. He was traveling with his lover at the time. Now he is confined to a wheelchair. He suspects his wife of infidelity. His obsession, harassment and aggression ruin their lives. Couple two: Kasia has found the man she wants to spend her life with. When the boyfriend confesses to her that until recently he was a woman, she can't explain it to herself. Couples three, four, five, six and seven also have their own dramas, secrets.

A film tragicomedy realized in the convention of a musical. The whole is based on new performances of songs by Jan Kaczmarek, which form a universal story about Poland and Poles, our history, our myths, fantasies, dreams and vices.

"Luxus" was one of the most eccentric art groups of the decline of communist Poland. Its contestation character grew out of rebellion against the all-encompassing gray. The group's uniqueness lay in the fact that, as they themselves said, "We are independent because we don't care." Even today its members give expression to their distinctiveness, growing out of the spirit of punk rock. In Agnieszka Mazanek's film, the former students of the Wroclaw PWSSP recall the artistic and social excesses of years ago, but also show the activities of "Luxus" against the backdrop of social and economic changes. Even today their critical and still equally witty view of the world touches on the paradoxes of modern times.

"The Boy Who Runs" is a film about the road to acceptance, showing the process that reveals how, despite their differences, the Yedchaks are a complete, loving family.
