Fahim Mohammad, a Bangladeshi immigrant, becomes a world junior chess champion in France.

Jean and Otto, a French newspaperman and a young German Francophile, are fighting for peace in Europe. Jean’s daughter, Corinne, is launching a brilliant acting career in the film world, but war breaks out and France is occupied. The two friends have a major role to play in this new France. Jean becomes a big press baron and an ardent advocate of collaboration with the occupying forces, while Otto becomes the Reich’s ambassador in Paris. Corinne, meanwhile, finds herself thrown into the lion’s pit.

An actress will play Barbara, the French singer. The shoot will soon start. The actress works on her character, her voice, the songs, scores, the gestures, knitting, scenes she has to learn, things are going okay, there's progress, development, she is even overwhelmed. The charming small port of Port-Vendres, with its 280 municipal employees, is shaken by a rumour: the Mayor, assisted by his department head, a Parisian who has studied at an elite business school, have the dark intention of reducing the staff of communal employees. Revolt rumbles, the majority and almost single union of the municipal employees organizes a response. The national secretary himself comes to consult. Upon his proposition, an historic decision is made: the municipal employees will strike.

Thierry Barré is a skeptical and introverted artist who has three passions: art, wine and Don Quixote. One night, he frantically writes a short novel on a wine trip between France and Spain. His story goes unnoticed until a film producer decides to adapt it for cinema. This unexpected turn leads Thierry to pair with actor José Garcia, Joël Dupuch and a small film crew. Together, they will engage in an initiating wine trip to follow the map outlined in Thierry’s novel. With a half-broken vintage mini-cooper, a Don Quixote sculpture and 2,000 km of road, they will attempt to reach the Spanish region of La Mancha to bring Thierry’s novel to life.
