Hamburg, St. Pauli, New Year's Eve. Oskar Wrobel runs a music club in an old hospital at the edge of the Reeperbahn. While fireworks go off in the streets of St. Pauli, he prepares the big final party - the club has to close. Thankfully there is no time to think about it because the chaos is breaking into his living room, all while hell break loose at the club. The film, based on the novel by Tino Hanekamp, was filmed with hundreds of extras attending a real-life three-night-long party.

Autumn 1979: 15-year-old Motte’s world is turned upside down when his best friend Bogi falls seriously ill, his parents separate, and he falls in love with Jacqueline, the most beautiful girl in the world. Torn between lovesickness and guilt toward his friend, he experiences an emotional rollercoaster. Yet all Motte really wants to do is listen to David Bowie, play soccer, and finally work up the courage to jump from the ten-meter diving board — his sanctuary whenever things get to be too much. Steffi, a self-confident chimney sweep, also throws his world into disarray with her zest for life. Many years later, Motte — now a structural engineer — is commissioned to demolish the ten-meter diving tower at the weather-beaten outdoor pool. But this place, which holds such deep significance, is filled with memories of the events from that year that changed his life.

Alex, Fedja, Timo and Lara are four troubled teens for whom the upcoming Christmas eve isn't a time of peace and joy: Since they all have a history of escalating family conflicts, they'll be spending the holidays not at home, but in a psychiatric ward. The utterly different adolescents not only have to adjust to one another, but also have to confront themselves in exhausting therapy sessions. Yet thanks to the unorthodox psychiatrist Dr. Wolf, the sessions take a turn for the unexpected - and the four experience a Christmas which they will never forget.
