This film presents six sequence shots of different faces. A young girl, a young woman, and an elderly woman live through a birth and a death in their own way.

A director has been filming his staircase which he has been climbing to the 6th floor for twenty years.

In an insurrectionary climate, four twenty-year-old friends talk about politics. As a big protest looms, one of them, Clara, has to write a college essay. Caught in the virtual images and the comfort of her bedroom, going out is harder than expected.

The young French environmentalist and Member of the European Parliament Yannick Jadot wonders how the wounded nuclear beast might still have a bright future ahead after Fukushima. A few weeks after this terrible accident, and while there is no time to lose, Yannick Jadot negotiates at the European Parliament for better security for the most nuclearized continent on the planet, whereas the majority political parties try to rationalize this extraordinary event. At the same time, the young deputy is an advisor to Eva Joly, the candidate for the presidential primary in the Ecologist party. They try to make visible and audible the necessity to abandon the atom during the campaign for the French presidential elections. But very soon he finds himself caught up in the spiral of events, strategy, polls and fake alliances.

1 September 2001. Elliot, an American C.I.A. agent holding top secret information on the immediate future of the world, disappears. His sole aim was to meet his daughter Orlando, whom he abandoned ten years before. Irène, a French agent who used to work with him, and David, his adoptive son, will help him and lead the girl to her father. Chased by William Pound, a strangely poetic psycho, they will defy the dangers of international espionage from Paris to Venice and finally get to Elliot on 11 September 2001.

Ten years after Mondovino, his analysis of the increasingly standardised wine production in France, wine expert Jonathan Nossiter picks up the thread again and shows what it means to be rooted in the soil you're working on. During walks through the vineyards and relaxed gatherings with a group of alternative Italian wine growers, he trades experiences and arguments. What looks like a bucolic paradise, where intelligent people produce wine according to time-honoured and organic methods, is actually revealed to be a battleground. The DOC association, which is supposed to look after the interest of independent vintners, promotes winemakers who produce vast amounts in a standardised quality; and the agricultural industry with its hygiene regulations excludes traditional methods of production. The only thing saving the landscape from being totally destroyed is affluent foreigners using the old vineyards as summer holiday homes.

Beautiful, sad story told from multiple perspectives. A man picks a dahlia before entering his home. His dog senses something is wrong. The housekeeper makes tea before seeing the tragedy. Slowly the elements slot into place.
