Duna Műhely

A story of a Jewish-Hungarian-Serbian family. The plot is centered about trying of an adult son to reconstruct his childhood dream of and memories. Looms, but a sunken world, the central European town with its figures, the way to experiencing deep and see a sensitive boy, his father, who by their fears that penetrate to the bone and the final humiliation of acting madness escapes and becomes a lonely, pathetic buffoon in the drama of life.

Alice and Mary were classmates in the county town high school. After graduation, they’ve separated: Mary went to college, while Alice felt in love and stayed in the grange. They meet at Alice's wedding, but Alice receives her friend reservedly: she reckons herself as a victim, and Mary as the symbol of the life she has been deprived of.

White-clad figures in gas masks appear from time to time. They are the Program group. It is presumably the behaviour of these characters - the population - who appear in each other's strange dreams that has triggered the desire of businessmen and politicians to call in foreign help to restore order. They have come with unknown aims, and are doing their work in terror. The film is a chain of surreal dreams, yet the feeling is familiar. We are home.

Feri returns home after a long stay abroad. He can’t even remember how long he has been away, and he has forgotten all his past, his family, his childhood. The reason for his amnesia is his strange addiction: his dependence on sugar.

Two self-made filmmakers, a director with no self-confidence, a cameraman who has never seen a camera and a pitiful dog are fumbling around in the summer heat in Voyvodina. They want to make a film about today's Bácska, or what? - they keep forgetting.

The film's protagonist, coming out of the pub, meets Jeremiah, a stoker who sells mysterious turtles. Who is watching whom? It is not known. "Fear is not born with a person, it is an infection that can be cured."

At the outskirts of a village in the Great Hungarian Plain, two communities live side-by-side as strangers: the workers of a high-tech factory and the inhabitants of the gypsy ghetto. This happens in spite of the fact that both of them deal with electricity. However, one community' s business needs constant supply of electric current while the other' s at least temporary power-cut.
