Seven stories about love and women.

The story unfolds using the Lajtai operetta The Old Summer. The son of landowner János Pataki comes from Sweden to visit his father in Budapest for a month's holiday. The parents are divorced because of a prima donna, and the mother warns her son against operettas and Buda pubs. The young Pataki, with the help of his father, enters the theatre world...

Inhabitants of a small village in Hungary deal with the effects of the fall of Communism. The town's source of revenue, a factory, has closed, and the locals, who include a doctor and three couples, await a cash payment offered in the wake of the shuttering. Irimias, a villager thought to be dead, returns and, unbeknownst to the locals, is a police informant. In a scheme, he persuades the villagers to form a commune with him.

Kató Kelemen is asked by her father to go to his office and welcome an important business partner of his. When Mr. Andersen arrives he assumes Kató is a secretary and instructs her to deliver a letter. He's about to travel to Venice with his nephew who he has never met before. Since Kató falls in love with Andersen at first sight, she decides to dress like a boy and pretends to be the nephew.

The debate is indecisive, since women and men always look for the fault in each other and not in themselves. The fault is never in the "apple". And Adam and Eve always eat the apple together.

The unskilled, jack-of-all-trades András and his wife, Éva are put in jail for serial work-place thefts, -committed in order to try to ensure a normal living standard for his family - and for aggravated assault committed for self-defence, respectively. Their two small children are put in state care, then given to foster parents. András, still in prison, commits everything to help the released Éva get hold of an apartment and get their children back so that when he will have served his term the family could be together again.

Marguerite Gautier, a beautiful Parisian courtesan turned courtesan, falls in love with the son of a country nobleman of modest means. This ardent love makes her give up her former lifestyle and move to the country with the boy. Despite their financial problems, their blissful happiness is interrupted by the appearance of the father, who asks Marguerite to break off her love affair for the sake of the boy. She then returns to Paris and resumes her self-destructive lifestyle, which has a fatal effect on her health. Her lover's heartache only increases when the truth is revealed: she has sacrificed her happiness for his career.

The magic boxes of the sound merchant captain are stolen from Hiziapisi by a bearded gentleman. With the help of Heziapiszi's Bag of Bones, they embark on a major investigation and find the box containing seven bird sounds in a row. Finally, Hiziapiszi and his companions donate all the bird sounds to a sick little boy to bring the sounds of the forest into his room.

King Tobiah, the ruler of the country of Dinom-danom, announces a pancake-making competition for the girls of the area. He is supposed to give his son to the one who makes the best pancakes. As it is in fairy tales: the enterprising girls all fail. Not so for Pigeon-eyed Ladybird, who wins the competition, but she doesn't want the prince... Meanwhile, Derelye, the evil chef who is destroying countries with his gang, is plundering the larder of the country of Dínom-dánom, but Prince Elias (Lajos Balázsovits) is determined to put an end to the wastefulness and thievery. He is aided by Csöröge, the loyal fool, and the pancake-making skills of Kökényeyűű Katica are of great help in the fight.

A portrait film in which the actors often employed by Fehér (Ferenc Kállai, Péter Haumann and Ildikó Bánsági, respectively) testify with love and respect about the artist's creative method and his pursuit of perfection.
