Seven stories about love and women.

Inhabitants of a small village in Hungary deal with the effects of the fall of Communism. The town's source of revenue, a factory, has closed, and the locals, who include a doctor and three couples, await a cash payment offered in the wake of the shuttering. Irimias, a villager thought to be dead, returns and, unbeknownst to the locals, is a police informant. In a scheme, he persuades the villagers to form a commune with him.

The story unfolds using the Lajtai operetta The Old Summer. The son of landowner János Pataki comes from Sweden to visit his father in Budapest for a month's holiday. The parents are divorced because of a prima donna, and the mother warns her son against operettas and Buda pubs. The young Pataki, with the help of his father, enters the theatre world...

The story of three sisters at the beginning of the 20th century who choose different paths to happiness after the death of their parents. While Ilona tries to keep the family business together and help her sisters, Jolánka and Anna see in men and marriage a way out. Three different female destinies, three archetypes and three excellent young actresses appear in Imre Mihályfi's film.

The unskilled, jack-of-all-trades András and his wife, Éva are put in jail for serial work-place thefts, -committed in order to try to ensure a normal living standard for his family - and for aggravated assault committed for self-defence, respectively. Their two small children are put in state care, then given to foster parents. András, still in prison, commits everything to help the released Éva get hold of an apartment and get their children back so that when he will have served his term the family could be together again.

A TV film version of Shakespeare's drama.

In 18th-century Paris, Jerome Coignard, an abbé who enters a Parisian soup kitchen called the Queen of Goosefoot, takes on the owner's son, James the Impaler, as his apprentice in exchange for a good salary. The abbé, a doctor of theology and a master of the arts, is a man of great learning, adventurous and fond of physical pleasures, who humorously highlights the contradictions between common sense and Catholic beliefs. In the house of D'Astarac, a wealthy alchemist philosopher, he employs the abbot and his disciple to translate ancient Greek texts.

The magic boxes of the sound merchant captain are stolen from Hiziapisi by a bearded gentleman. With the help of Heziapiszi's Bag of Bones, they embark on a major investigation and find the box containing seven bird sounds in a row. Finally, Hiziapiszi and his companions donate all the bird sounds to a sick little boy to bring the sounds of the forest into his room.

Hungarian version of Beethoven's opera

The story played by civilian players is laid in a Transdanubian village, where on the initiative of the municipality doctor the local inhabitants wish to build a social welfare home as volunteers, with the support of the local co-operative and the state farm. Having first consented to the plan, the leadership of the county starts opposing the project because of the plan to build a social welfare home called the City of the Happy Aged to be established by the county. Both parties take the field for their ideas and the battle starts.

Mocorgó, the well-meaning worker boy, is a tough guy. In his 40s he is still a mechanic's apprentice, but he is disappointed by his family, women and friends, and becomes a criminal. He goes to prison several times and tells the story of his life to the writer, who follows his story until 1956, until Mocorgó's death.

Set in a large apartment in Hungary during the death throes of communism, obedient Andor lives with his eccentric mother, Rebeka, a once-celebrated stage actress-turned-recluse. After years of coexisting in a love-hate relationship marked by routine and possible incest, Andor brings home Eszter, a beautiful girl his own age. Her advances awaken Andor's repressed desires, the depths of which prove shocking. Opera director Robert Alfoldi renders this bizarre story in a melodramatic style, and veteran Hungarian stage star Dorottya Udvaros rises to the occasion. If you can imagine the intersecting area on a Venn diagram that includes Taxidermia and Sunset Blvd., that's where Where Were You, My Son? was born. The original title, Nyugalom, which translates to Tranquility, is ironic to say the least. ...over the-top...memorable...thunderous...sex and violins (Variety).

A young man offers his services through a newspaper advertisement: Mr Psimth takes care of everything. A man approaches him and asks him to steal his aunt's precious brilliant necklace. Mr.Psmith arrives at the castle and realises that all the guests there want the jewels. The young man exposes the company and takes a wife instead of the necklace.

Kató Kelemen is asked by her father to go to his office and welcome an important business partner of his. When Mr. Andersen arrives he assumes Kató is a secretary and instructs her to deliver a letter. He's about to travel to Venice with his nephew who he has never met before. Since Kató falls in love with Andersen at first sight, she decides to dress like a boy and pretends to be the nephew.

Öcsi adores Sarolta, the prettiest girl in class. Öcsi wants to woo her, but how? Take her bag, kidnap her in a Mercedes, serenade her? In this cheerful film with music and dance, scenes alternate between real and imaginary.

After his owners abandon him in the woods, a puppy befriends a family of rabbits.
