Location: a lonely house, crowded with everyday things and one man. Objects live their lives; they rejoice harmlessly, they love, they suffer, but above all they enjoy their own liberation from the chains of objectivity, from the restraint of functionality. They childishly surrender to the frenzy of action, to the motion of movement. New beings, mutants of civilization. Objects seen differently.

All is grey. The sun has not been rising for years. There is a legend going around the city: Paint the sun a 1000 times and it will rise again.

The inspector cautiously walks the city streets avoiding “dangers”. He comes home, washes his feet and reads newspapers. Suddenly he sees a fingerprint that makes a run for it. The inspector follows it…

Two main characters, Cricket and Antoinette, represent two separate worlds, the world of noise, chaos and creativity on the one side, and the world of work, order and discipline on the other. As they fall in love, in spite of obvious differences, they manage to create harmony.

Hrvatska Dubica is a village on the border with the Republic of Srpska. It never recovered from the devastation of war so its number of inhabitants keeps decreasing. The film centres on Nikica Jukić, a former Croatian veteran who went to war when he was seventeen and received his pension when he was twenty-two. He, his unwed partner Svjetlana, who is of Serbian nationality, and the other characters in the film recount their daily life. They speak about love, hatred, co-existence, as well as current topics such as the European Union border and the arrival of immigrants from the East.

This film tells about how women idealise and romanticise love affairs, and all they do and tolerate to be loved.

Danish philosopher Søren Aabye Kierkegaard (1813 – 1855) was buried at the Assistens graveyard in Copenhagen, where he spent his whole life. During his life he was thinking about death a lot, and then he died.

An alienated and lonely man goes to take a rest and dreams about the same torment and feeling of inability to bear the burdens of life that torment him even when he is awake. He dreams of his ups and downs, as well as fears which turned into symbols that also came from the rigid everyday reality.
