As they are about to be thrown into the blazing furnace Peggy outwits the witch, and, in turn, the witch is thrust into the roaring flames, as the mother, repentant, heads the neighbors in the work of rescue.

After a few hair-raising stunts that will give nervous ones in your audience a jolt. Bert demands money that Charles owes him. They end a fast chase on the roof of a building overlooking a lion's den. Here Bert slips down the roof in among the beasts and Bert lowers a flag to half mast, supposing of course this is the end of his pal. But to his astonishment Charles not only comes out alive but is seen reclining comfortably on one of the biggest lions.

Buddy, an office-boy in a newspaper plant, puts on long trousers to get a man's-size job on the paper, and impress his girl. His brother, a reporter, is sent to write a story on a mysterious eye that has been terrorizing the neighborhood, sending women into hysterics. The girl staff writer disguises herself as a man and goes on her own hook to get the story. The three meet in an apparently haunted house, where mysterious happenings terrify them, furniture jumps about, a mysterious eye follows them through the place. Buddy dresses as a girl and vamps his brother, obtaining the story. He manages to catch the doctor, attired as the mysterious eye to drum up trade, and scores a beat on the others. He gives them credit for digging up the story, however, and the editor gives them his blessing - and a raise.

Eddie and his pal, after repeatedly standing off the landlady, find the door of their room barricaded and escape cut off. Eddie endeavors to make his escape across a wire to a telegraph pole, but the wire breaks and he swings back into the room, breaking the barricade from the door. They make their getaway and Eddie sneaks into the garage and gets his cab, as his pal is fired for being late. The latter appeals to a rival company for a job promising to take all the business from his late pal. It is then a chase between them for customers with all sorts of devices resorted to to secure business.
