Adela and her baby move to Madrid in search of a new start after a tough separation. Antonia is a shop owner with three adult daughters. The film is divided into five chapters revolving around their health, work, relationships and money.

Emma is 50 years old and twenty who acts corrections officer. Her life revolves around the jail where he works and her home. Without leaving his loneliness, her order and her almost obsessive routine, lives locked in a reality that has been built for she.

Abel lives with his mother in a small town on the outskirts of Barcelona. His life, grey and boring, is based on the small family business, his mother's house, his girlfriend's bed, and the town bars. However under an appearance of quiet and gentle man, Abel hides a dark and morbid personality.

One night, while Raul is with his girlfriend in his car, he sees how two boys are beating another one. Raul saves the guy, Alex, frightening the other two, and proposes a revenge to him: to burn their car. Thus they do it and it creates a link between them: from that moment they will be burning cars through the city and they will record it in video to upload it later on the Internet. A year later, while they are burning a car, an old man is injured when he tries to extinguish the fire. Alex goes to help it while Raul flees. Alex and the old man, Antonio, goes to the hospital, where the boy knows Isabel, Antonio's granddaughter. Isabel studies and works, and now, without a car, the things will become more difficult to her. Alex quickly feels attracted by Isabel; they become good friends and Alex is moved away of Raul in spite of his attempts recover him.

A college professor tries to deal with the frustrations of her life as she drifts uncomfortably into middle age. Elvira Minguez plays Sara, a 40-year-old single mother who teaches at a university while sharing her home with her teenage daughter Virginia and her boyfriend Adrian. Lately, Sara has not been getting along well with her friends and has very mixed feelings about Virginia's openness about her sex life. These dilemmas are compounded by the death of her father.

Carme, a gynecologist from Barcelona who has just separated from her colleague, gets involved in the problem of Shahida, one of her patients, whose husband refuses to recognize their newborn daughter.
