In 202X, Tathagata Killer, a mysterious military leader armed with extraterrestrial technology, stages a coup and becomes the new emperor of the world superpower of Asia. Sho Shishimaru, gifted with prophetic powers, may be the only one standing in the way of Killer’s take-over of the entire world. The future of humankind is at stake in this epic struggle, but in its midst, we learn about the mystical laws that rule the world around us.

Gauche is a diligent but mediocre cellist who plays for a small town orchestra and the local cinema in the early 20th century. He struggles during rehearsals and is often berated by his conductor during preparations for an upcoming performance of Beethoven's Sixth Symphony. Over the course of four nights, Gauche is visited at his mill house home by talking animals as he is practicing.

Noriyasu seems like an average third-grader, but his life goes haywire after he catches his mother reading his private daily journal. The original "Niko Niko, Pun" was a live-action puppet show in costume, but in this anime version, the three main characters are voiced by the same voice actors, including Kaneta Kimotsuki. One day, Porori hears from her mother that she has a new baby brother. With the help of Jajamaru and Pikkoro, they set off on a boat to find their brother, but for some reason, the three of them end up on an island inhabited by pirates.

Momentarily forgetting to keep quiet, Potomas speaks to a child he has just saved from drowning. Rumors soon spread about a talking hippo, and Potomas is forced to go on the run.
