The Runway is inspired by the true story of a South American pilot who landed his plane near Mallow, in 1983. Against all odds, the people of the town came together to build a runway to get him home and briefly caught the imagination of the nation. It is the story of Paco, a young boy without a father who adopts the pilot and convinces the town to build a runway to get him home.

In a time when every continent that can be discovered has been discovered, Paul works as a cartographer who dreams of distant places. That is until he crosses Ana who folds maps for the same company. During a secret meeting he eventually discovers his own private America that cannot be found on any map of the world.

Man-child Flëpp needs to sever the unhealthy ties that bind him to his mother in order to win the heart of young runaway Leena.
