Barm`o`Ley kidnaps baby animals to stock his daughter’s private zoo. However, after meeting Dr. Dolittle, Lea begins to reconsider her attitude toward animals — and ultimately reforms her father, Barm`o`Ley.

Aibolit, who has been sent to a five-star hotel for forced rest, learns from Chi-Chi, a pet monkey, that an epidemic has begun among animals in Africa. Together with Chi-Chi, he goes to Africa in a hot air balloon, which takes tourists. Together they learn that the epidemic is the machinations of the evil robber Barmaley, who cannot deny his little daughter Leia anything.
