The members of a Mexican family—María Elena, Doña Aurelia, Doña Elena, and Luisa—are mourning their grandmother and mother, Tita, the matriarch of the household, who, before passing away, passed down to them her recipe for mushroom cream soup, which they used to share regularly as a family dinner. However, over the years, tensions arose among the family members, eventually severing their bonds. Their challenge now is to cook the mushroom cream soup just as Tita used to, while the ingredients and the kitchen come to life and serve as symbols of the family’s disintegration. María Elena struggles to keep her family united and the memory of her Tita alive.

A little girl runs through the forest while something pursues her. Seeking refuge in a cabin, she comes face to face with an adult version of herself in a mirror.

Luis, a gnome, is having a mental crisis due to his last jobs and failed relationships. At school, he has many tasks to achieve while he is trying to get mental peace from his past. He will look for a meaning by hanging out with friends and doing some natural activities.

During a party, Axel finds himself unable to fit in or connect amid the crowd. Observing the room, he discovers the presence of a doppelgänger: an extroverted, charismatic, and idealised version of himself. Face-to-face in a neutral space, the two confront each other over childhood photographs and fragmented memories. While the outgoing alter ego attempts to uphold a flawless image that meets social expectations, the reclusive self brings to light the anxiety, vulnerability, and grief they have tried to conceal. Me and Him is an intrapersonal exploration of the friction between the public persona demanded by the world and the vulnerable self that resides in solitude
