This is the full story of Nate’s first attempt to run 100 miles through the mountains of Leadville, Colorado - one of the world’s toughest ultramarathons.

Kara and Nate navigate the challenging, high-altitude terrain of the Andes during a demanding 100-mile ultramarathon in Argentina. As navigation tasks and remote aid stations complicate the journey, the participants must rely on rigorous physical endurance, self-supported logistics, and strategic planning to overcome the unpredictable Patagonian wilderness.

Nate Buchanan, one half of the duo Kara and Nate, takes on his first “last man standing” format backyard-ultra in order to find his limit. In this race format, participants must complete a 4.167-mile loop every hour on the hour. Facing extreme physical demand and sleep deprivation, the Kara and Nate navigate the unique race format while managing their support station and race strategy to keep going as long as possible.
