Japan is the place that formed Masa Sakano but Scotland is the place that opened his eyes. Rooted in exploring the concept of home, the film takes us from the icy crags of the Scottish mountains to the quiet comfort of Masa's home in the shadow of the Cairngorms and back to his roots in rural Japan. Masa is a climber and translator based in the Scottish Highlands. Originally from Japan, Masa was drawn to Scotland by the winter climbing and the climbing culture. Having climbed around the world, Masa has been part of historic first ascents as well as being passionate about the experience of being out in the landscape.

Photographer Karen Miller braves the Scottish elements to capture the lives of mountain hares, exploring the delicate balance between nature and adventure. Venturing alone into Scotland’s harsh yet beautiful landscapes, Miller's journey highlights her deep connection to wildlife, the land, and her passion for adventure photography during a challenging winter season.

Set in the rugged beauty of the Scottish Highlands, this short film moves beyond the pursuit of performance and perfection to rediscover the simple joy of being outdoors. Amid unpredictable weather and changing conditions, three friends swap their usual disciplines of skiing, running, and climbing to learn from one another. What starts as a light-hearted challenge evolves into something much deeper.
