Jo is wild, melancholic, only 15 and today she misses the school bus, once again. Her mother insists she doesn’t have a car, even though it’s parked outside. Furious, Jo tries to damage the car. Her mother intervenes, and that is the last time they will meet in the physical world – at least in body form. Throughout the day, subtle signs and symbols from the dream world quietly surface around her, but she fails to recognize them, indeed Jo is unaware that she is living the last day of her life.

Two teenagers protesting political repression must flee, taking with them only their love and a dog.

A door slams shut and the young man is left outside. He is alone. And he has nowhere to sleep. A drift through a nocturnal city – killing time and warming up in damp clothes. Cinema, McDonald's, and stretches of brutal wind through a winter-wet city. In the chiaroscuro of pore-deep close-ups and shopping mall wide shots, SLEEP WALK reveals an everyday parallel to the genre narrative, blending an overlooked reality with the visual tropes of film noir.
