Filmed between 2007-2020, Between Lights Drawing Your Face unfolds as a visual essay that gently seeks to portray my grandmother Ruth Caballero de Saco during everyday moments wrapped in nostalgia and uncertainty. Between fleeting rays and foreign shadows, his figure becomes discernible before my lens, the collage of formats (Super 8mm, Hi-8, Mini DV) illuminating his life in full, from his childhood on the island of Cuba to his exodus to the United States and all that that transition entailed.

A one-man reinterpretation of the acclaimed film Glengarry Glen Ross. Choosing the Icelandic countryside as the backdrop for the unraveling of events, the director Francisco Saco takes on the role of each character in the film, battling himself and the elements as he re-conceptualizes an emblematic American text on the pitfalls of patriarchy in an attempt to address his own torturous masculinity.

A cautionary tale of how our consumer habits and means of preventing further spread of disease can ultimately do more harm than good. When a distracted office worker bunglingly takes off her facemask to take a phone call, the elusive mask takes on a life of its own, soaring through the skies, across the countryside, eventually landing on a beach where it shimmies on the verge of ending up in the water.
