Lonnie and Brian go on the run from the Cape Town underworld, after finding a box filled with cash and a valuable wrist watch. They steal a lucky fish that they use to barter with the gangsters.

Dolf is a regular guy from a modest background in Knysna. He is content with his normal small town existence, his group of friends and his eccentric grandparents. His life is thrown upside down when he falls for a beautiful stranger Stephanie, a somewhat wealthy visitor to the sleepy coastal resort. What she has not been honest about, is that she is engaged to the Prince of Lichtenstein, but has a cold feet, and is hiding out in Knysna. Stephanie is drawn to the simplicity of Dolf's life and yearns for her own to be as uncomplicated and away from the limelight. When the lie becomes apparent, Dolf is conflicted. He is in love with Stephanie, but also feels an inferiority complex come to the fore. She is just a girl wanting a guy to love her and for her to love him back.

Bhai's corner shop is a mainstay of the community, but gentrification means small businesses are under threat from corporate property developers. Bhai is not going to roll over that easily. He'll fight until the last koeksister is thrown.

Mareike (Lika Berning) is a city girl and successful in her demanding career. The same can not be said for her love life. After a confrontation with her boss, she decides to swop the city for the platteland and a bakery that she inherited from an aunt. But her new life in the small town is more than she expected. Apart from the fact that she must trade her business suits for an apron, things really hot up when she must choose between Mr Handsome and Mr Right.

Anya du Plessis returns to Philadelphia, South Africa from New York to repair the fractious relationship with her father Marius, and to help with the struggling farm. She finds her father's crutch for dealing with her mother's passing, is an obsession with his beer brewing hobby, he believes is the answer to their financial woes. When leaving New York, Anya is also leaving behind Jacob, her boyfriend and work colleague, and the last thing she expects is to fall for a suave, charming stranger. Ruan is on a mission from his Brewing Company, to identify a new winning beer recipe with which to enter the annual craft beer competition, and comes across Marius' farm and special brew, the only thing standing in his path to craft beer glory, is the feisty daughter of the farmer.
