Ignacio, a disrespected cook at a Mexican monastery, can barely afford to feed the orphans who live there. Inspired by a local wrestling hero, he decides to moonlight as the not-so-famous Luchador "Nacho Libre" to earn money for the monastery -- not to mention the admiration of beautiful nun Sister Encarnación.

The story of Rachel, a young woman in her early 20s who lives with her Nigerian uncle (Danny Glover) and his American wife (Edythe Davis). When her aunt has had enough of her niece's free-spirited lifestyle, she kicks Rachel out of the house. Rachel is left to figure it out on her own, but quickly runs into Skeeter, a washed-up movie star whose life is surprisingly similar to hers. Together, they decide to "play a part" in hopes of both getting what they need.

Аlina Makarova is a mother of six of her own children and one adopted child. Her ex husband is from Ethiopia, and all her own children are mixed race. Only her adopted son is white, but he has serious health problems and is psychologically unstable. Alina's older children realise what complications the adoption might bring and are afraid that there won't be enough room, time and love for everyone. But she convinces them that it's the right thing.
