When Nina is unexpectedly asked to cover the night shift at the bar where she works, she struggles to find a way home without spending, yet again, half her pay on a taxi.

The seasoned Captain Mitsos Avgoustis stubbornly refuses to retire. The ocean swell has lodged itself in his mind, and the sea simply will not give him back. A forgotten wedding videotape holds the coming-of-age story of a girl, pieced together through fragments of family life in provincial Greece during the 2000s. From the wedding festivities before the ceremony to the couple’s exit from the church, childhood memories intertwine with contemporary recordings of her adult self.
