World War II saw millions of people deported by the Nazis to Germany for forced labor. Around two million were taken from Ukraine alone. Their fates varied: some returned home, while others perished. Hanna Artyukh, a simple worker from Kyiv, survived, returned home, is raising her grandchildren, and remembers everything.

The outstanding Ukrainian artist Heorhii Narbut lived at the turn of two centuries and died young in 1920. He was enamored with the magazine "The World of Art," studied in Munich, and witnessed the beginning and end of the Ukrainian revolution. His illustrations for Andersen's "The Nightingale" are known to more than one generation of readers.

A museum dedicated to one street on Andriivskyi Uzviz in Kyiv. Reading the memoirs of Tatyana Lapa, Mikhail Bulgakov's first wife, and wandering around the places of their youth, a museum employee tells the story of their first meeting, love, marriage, and separation.
